At LAUDAE, we make bold gowns for bold brides. LAUDAE brides are beautiful, confident, and they love to be the centre of attention.
But it’s not just surface-level – they’ve also got the smarts and the amazing personalities to back it all up. That’s why the 2025 Collection is named for cinema’s most famous starlets – women who wrapped beauty up with brains and talent, and who were genuinely one of a kind, just like our brides.
“This year for LAUDAE, our aim was to have a well rounded collection which could speak to all the different LAUDAE brides out there,” says Gaby Bayona, Founder and Creative Director of LAUDAE. “We wanted necklines that could resonate with many different brides – from strapless, to square neck, to plunging, to unique wire necklines as seen on our new Rita gown. And this year, we have fixed sleeves, detachable sleeves, spaghetti straps, and thicker sewn straps. There’s something for everyone here.”
That means with this collection, you won’t just look great – you’ll look, and feel, like yourself.
For the showstoppers
A great gown starts with high quality, luxury fabrics. They’re the secret to making you look and feel great from dawn ‘til dusk and ‘til dawn again.
“In this collection, we brought back our much loved luxe satin,” says Gaby. “But we’ve also introduced a new sparkly number, Rita, explored timeless lace, and we're bringing in a completely new fabric for LAUDAE: jacquard.”
Rita glitters from top to bottom – she belongs in one place and that’s the spotlight. She’s made with a namesake shimmery tulle and dotted with pearls, all arranged in a beautiful botanical motif. Rita is also a standout in this collection for the slim-fit through the waist paired with its tiny cutout at the front of the bodice. She’s a showstopper.
Marilyn showcases the new jacquard. Jacquard is a fabric where the pattern is created by the process of weaving the fabric; the pattern isn’t added after, it’s integral to the DNA of the gown itself. The result, on Marilyn, is a gorgeous plunging neckline contrasting with an elegant and subtle floral pattern. She’s bold and beautiful, but also complicated, like her namesake.
New traditions
“This collection hits a lot of trends in bridal right now,” says Gaby. “Satin has overtaken crepe as the "it-girl" basic, pearls are everywhere right now, and brides are circling back to more traditional laces.”
Grace combines these trends for a gown that’s both sexy and refined. She’s made with lovely satin that pools and drapes as you move, and the bodice is lined with a sweet lace trim. Her silhouette is classic and simple, but the sleeves, which rest just off the shoulder, make Grace totally unique.
Brigitte, conversely, is defined by her lace. The lace runs the length of the gown in a repeating floral pattern which fans out from the modern mermaid skirt into a lovely long train. It’s a romantic gown and feels more traditional – but you can add a lovely dimensional trim at the top of the bodice and detachable sleeves for a more modern look.
“I'm loving the lace trims which can be found on both Grace and Brigitte,” Gaby says. “We didn’t work with lace at all in our last collection, and I’m so glad to revisit it here.”
It’s all in the details
It all comes down to the details with wedding gowns, and Ava and Audrey are perfect examples.
Audrey is a sleek, modern gown with a sexy plunging back and refined square neckline. She’s snug through the waist and fans out into a modern mermaid skirt. But she introduces a charming, feminine detail: a delicate pearl trim at the straps and the top of the bodice. It’s a subtle detail that makes Audrey totally unforgettable.
Ava is like Audrey’s softer, more whimsical sister. The fit is similar, but Ava has a lovely sloping sweetheart neckline designed to set off the collarbones and frame your decolletage. She’s also made head to toe with a soft lace overlay. She’s got side cutouts lined with illusion mesh, like Audrey, and she’s finished with thin spaghetti straps. Perfection.
“I'm really excited about the pearl trim on Audrey and this new neckline shape on Ava,” says Gaby. “These two gowns represent how LAUDAE has changed through time. It’s so exciting to find new ways to bring our brides’ favourite bridal trends out in fresh ways each season.”
This collection, like all LAUDAE collections, keeps up with our usual environmentally-friendly practices. All gowns are lined with comfortable recycled materials, and each gown is locally manufactured in our East Vancouver studio. And even better: the trim on Grace is made by recycling deadstock fabric already existing in the studio.
“I'm most proud of the versatility in this year’s collection,” says Gaby. “It shows that the LAUDAE design ethos is adaptable, and we can bring these dreamy gowns to life for all kinds of brides. I can’t wait to see these gowns out in the world.” ∎
